Small connectors are tough hands to play at the best of times, but in regards to poker tournament strategy I feel it is ultra important to keep your costs to a minimum (as in late position, multi-way pot) while simultaneously surveying the size of the stacks of those limpers and their propensity for huge errors. If both of these factors are present, then make the call if you are Green, Yellow or Orange MZone.

Ok what can I say. Most of these are poorly played hands - yes I do have them - LOTS! I went through some video footage at the request of one of my many emails from subscribers asking about how to play a certain hand. Pocket Jacks come up quite a lot and Daniel Negreanu even says they are tough to play.

A blocking bet is used when you think you might have the best hand after the river card, but you are not entirely sure.  A blocking is usually made against a single opponent, when you are out of position so that after the river card is turned over, you are first to act. Even though being out of position is normally a disadvantage, by putting in a blocking bet here, you are actually negating your opponent’s positional advantage.

A forum member rambles about his tournament bankroll strategy: Time to get back in the online game. I backed off when I started back up in school, but now that I realize how easy even upper division business stuff is, I think I can get to work. The key for me is to remain sharp mentally. I have fared well playing small stakes limit cash and then got into tournaments and did well with the $4 180s on Stars.

If you are like me, then you play  a lot of a multi-table sit and go tournaments online.  They are really great in terms of keeping your time spent in tournaments confined to segments, that don't intrude on as much of your time as the open multi-table tournaments. There have been many times when I wanted to play a tournament by only had maybe three hours maximum.  In that sense, I look to the 90 seat or 180 seat sit and go tournaments that you can find at poker stars and full tilt poker.
